Bacharach’s MGS-408 Gas Detection Controller centralizes the status of up to 8 gas detection channels in a single location. The digital display provides a real-time view of the gas concentration and status at each gas detection point. It also allows for the controller to be configured in minutes vie the intuitive menu system. A bank of LEDs corresponds to each connected gas detector; showing power, alarm status and fault indicators.

The MGS-408 can provide power for up to 8 gas detectors, which can be daisy-chained along with Modbus communication to each gas detector; simplifying and reducing the cost of installation. Integration is possible with Bacharach’s MGS-400 series, MGS-250 and MGS-550 Gas Detector platforms; allowing for a flexible gas detection system design which can utilize the benefits of multiple gas detector types as required in different locations (machinery rooms, cold storage rooms, walk-in freezers and food preparation areas).

Combining the MGS-408 with Bacharach’s range of gas detectors provides a single system with an easy means of achieving compliance with refrigeration safety standards such as EN 378 and ASHRAE 15.

Bacharach’s MGS-408 Controller centralizes the status of eight gas detectors to enable compliance with refrigeration safety codes (ASHRAE 15, EN 378, CSA-B52).

Centralized power and communications for up-to eight connected gas sensors, including the MGS-250, MGS-410, MGS-450, MGS-460 and MGS-550
Digital display shows real-time concentration readings for all connected gas detectors and makes configuration and self-diagnostics intuitive
Tri-color LED indicators provide “at-a-glance” system / alarm status
Integrated SD card retains the alarm / status history of the gas detection system
Modbus communications (slave) for integration with third-party BMS / BAS control systems
Three user-configurable relays (fault, low and high alarm) may be used to activate external beacons / sounders, ventilation or other countermeasures
Integrated audible / visual alarms with push button silence for refrigeration safety compliance – no additional hardware

Dangers of Flammable Gases

Flammable gases pose significant dangers due to their ability to ignite and sustain combustion. Here are some of the key hazards associated with flammable gases: Fire and Explosion: Flammable gases can ignite easily in the presence of an ignition source such as a spark, flame, or heat. Once ignited, they can rapidly propagate combustion, leading to fires and explosions. These ...

Volatile Organic Compounds ( VOC’s )

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are a group of chemicals that can easily evaporate into the air at room temperature. They are emitted from a wide array of sources, including household products, building materials, and industrial processes. While many VOCs are harmless, some can pose significant health risks, especially when present in high concentrations or in poorly ventilated spaces. Here are ...

Dangers of Hydrogen Sulphide Gas

Another common hazard we are asked about is dangers from slurry on farms and how H2S can easily overpower anyone who gets too near . Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas poses several dangers to human health and the environment. Here are some of the main risks associated with exposure to hydrogen sulfide: Toxicity: Hydrogen sulfide is highly toxic even at low ...
